Description: Background- The Public Land Survey System was created in 1785 in order to survey the land west of the original 13 states. Various regions of the country have different, localized meridians and baselines for their surveyed lands. Arizona's center point is located on Monument Hill near the confluence of the Salt and Gila Rivers. Purpose and intended use - This is to show the locations of the sections within all of the townships in the State of Arizona. This is for assisting in determining the locations of land for property records.Data creation methodologies, processing, and quality- This data is produced by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and the United States Geological Survey (USGS). Data limitations – This dataset contains sections that are not recognized by all organizations, especially in the areas just north of Prescott.
